We are in full preparation mode in readiness for our Open Day this Saturday 18th May. We are looking forward to welcoming people on site and to share the vision for WELLBANK PARK.

Visitors will be able to walk through the 14-acre site and see the custom-build homes already under construction. They can also see the location for the Community Hub will soon be constructed and the facilities it will offer. Once on site, visitors will get a real sense of the generous house plot sizes and with much of the landscaping, ponds and swales already well underway they will also be able to visualise the biodiverse nature of the development and how that will evolve over time.

WELLBANK’s custom-build partner Joe Higginson of HUGR Homes will be on hand to talk about our unique approach to supporting and guiding people through the process of designing and building their own homes.

Unlike a self-build, which can be a daunting prospect, WELLBANK’s  fully serviced plots takes all the worry out of planning permissions, utilities or roads. You are then fully supported through the full process from buying your plot, choosing your house type, and working with contractors through to designing and building your perfect home. Joe will be there to answer your questions and to explain all things custom-build.

To learn more, visit us on Saturday anytime between 12pm and 4pm – we will be delighted to see you at our Welcome Pod!

THE LANDSCAPE IS STARTING TO THRIVE

With the rain and warmer days starting, it is great to see all the new planting on-site growing fast. Cumbria Wildflowers and West Lakes Tree Services have been on-site this week to manage the grass and help keep the planting looking its best. As a former MOD site, it’s wonderful to see the biodiversity develop and the site to truly settle into the natural landscape around it.

DEVELOPING WELLBANK’S ACCESSIBILITY

Hannah Gardener from Envirotech visited us this week to look at what we have achieved so far at WELLBANK.  She is also working with the local Parish Council as we look outside the site at safe pathways for all between Bootle Village, Wellbank Park, Bootle train station and the beach. As an ecological, environmental and rural surveying consultancy firm, we have worked with Envirotech over several years as the site has development. They are committed to keeping us all up to speed with the requirements of the rural economy and local environment.

IT’S ALL ABOUT THE TEAMWORK

Our dedicated on-site teams at WELLBANK have also been working hard this week in preparation for our Open Day.

We welcomed Joe Roche onto the site this week. Local to Millom, Joe is an apprentice with our construction partner Clear Developments and is studying at Barrow in Furness College. Joe will be working and learning on site as part of his three-year colleage course. He will be learning about all aspects of construction and has a particular interest in joinery – it’s great to have him here.

We also send our warm congratulations to WELLBANK’s Site Manager Alex Beattie on his recent marriage to Fay. A cruical member of the team, Alex works with our construction partner Clear Developments to supervise, undertake quality checks, to problem solves all the building works and manage the various contractors. He also works closely with our custom build specialist Joe and our plot buyers.
